Ander Herrera has insisted that Paul Pogba was optimistic about his injury not being that serious after he was forced off during Manchester United’s Europa League win over Rostov on Thursday night.
The French midfielder lasted just two minutes of the game as he suffered what was thought to be a hamstring injury at Old Trafford.
Speaking after the game, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho said that Pogba would be missing for the clash against Middlesbrough on Sunday and that the midfielder was also likely to miss France’s forthcoming games at the end of the month.
However, Herrera was optimistic that Pogba’s injury was not too serious and said that Pogba appeared to be in a positive mood after the game.
Herrera told MUTV: “They don’t look very serious, I’ve asked Paul and he was quite positive.
“He thought it was not so big, the injury, so hopefully the injury is not very big because Paul is important for us" Manchester United are currently gearing up for their their Premier League trip to Middlesbrough on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils were pitted against Anderlecht in the quarter-finals of the Europa League on Friday.
